It is possible that false job postings may be listed online with the intent of obtaining personal information for fraudulent purposes. This is a violation of our Terms of Use and may also be a violation of provincial, or federal laws.

Please keep the following guidelines in mind when dealing with prospective employers:

• Do not give your jobhawk.com Username or Password to anyone.
• Do not give your social insurance number to anyone. Employers do not need this information until you have been hired.
• Do not give your credit card or bank information to anyone and do not enter into financial transactions.
• Do not provide any non-work related information such as marital status, mother's maiden name, or physical characteristics.
• Do not provide reference names or contact information. These can be provided to your potential employer when you meet.
• Although we take precautions to protect your personal information, we cannot control how an employer or recruiter may use your résumé after it is downloaded.
• Avoid responding to very general job offers such as, "We have hundreds of openings." Generally, the more vague the offer, the more likely it is to be fraudulent.
• Use a browser based e-mail account like Yahoo Mail or Hotmail. It's easy to cancel these accounts if you start receiving spam or unsolicited e-mail.
